Bespoke Walking Holidays in West Cornwall

You've Earned It

However far you've walked, you've earned your reward. Whether it be a sumptuous 3 course meal, fish and chips  on a sandy beach, or an afternoon at the Minack Theatre or St Michael's Mount, here are just a few ideas.

Eat and Drink

An embarassment of riches

West Cornwall has a wealth of very good places to eat and drink. We have several celebrated chefs and award winning pubs and restaurants. If you want excellent local fish, meat and vegetables, cooked with love, this is the holiday for you.

Recommendations?

We know that people's tastes and requirements differ hugely, and so we don't make recommendations here. We can tell you where we like, where our guests have liked, and what is available. But half the fun is finding your own special place, isn't it?

Don't be late!

We are 6 miles outside the nearest town (Penzance). Most places stop serving food at 8:30 or 9:00pm. And in season you will have to book.

Locally

Goldsithney has two pubs, just a couple of minute's walk from Lamorna House. They both serve traditional, hearty, good value pub food. Both stop serving at 8:30.

For a treat, try the Victoria Inn at Perranuthnoe. Have a stroll down to the beach before dinner, or after. A taxi will have you back in five minutes.

Marazion

Marazion has some great options for lunch and dinner, catering for all tastes and appetites! Philps Pasties (the best, we think) have a shop open during the day. Then there is fish and chips, gorgeous cafes and several pubs and restaurants.

At the end of your walk

If you end your day's walk at St Ives, Zennor, Sennen Cove, Porthcurno, Lamorna, Mousehole, Newlyn, Penzance or Porthleven you will have a good meal at the end of it! Don't worry, we'll let you know the options when you're here, but if you want to do some research in advance, we can factor it into your holiday.

Beaches

Perranuthnoe

You need go no further than a mile down the road for a fabulous beach when the tide is out), and two very good little cafes.

St Ives

Where to start.... Sandy beaches and blue blue seas, and with at least one (licensed) fantastic cafe or restaurant at all of them! If you don't mind the crowds, a beach cafe crawl in St Ives is a wonderful day out, or just a beach crawl...

During your walk

There are lots and lots of sandy beaches, whichever walk you do. You may have to work to get to them! But if that is what you want to do, then take a towel. When you're walking on a hot day the beaches call to you like sirens....

At the end of your walk

If you want to end your walk with an afternoon on the beach, we can arrange that. St Ives, Sennen Cove, Porthcurno, Perranuthnoe, Praa Sands are some of your options. We'll let you know if you need to take, or can buy, your beach picnic.

Visit

St Michael's Mount

We are incredibly lucky to live just a couple of miles from the magical St Michael's Mount. We have an excellent circular walk from Lamorna House which incorporates a visit to the Mount, and the wonderful little shops of Marazion. A wonderful day off.

The Minack Theatre

Just stunning. If you can get to see a show, do. But you may be frequently distracted by the sea views and the sheer fantabulousness of this theatre built into the cliff. If there isn't a show, it is worth a visit to the museum and the lovely cafe.

St Ives, and the Tate

If you're not into the beaches, perhaps the art will tempt you?

Vineyards and Gardens

Polgoon vineyard, Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, Trewidden Gardens and Trengwainton Gadrens - all a short drive away.
